GEORGIAN

Maverick Experts’ Training Academy provides Georgian Language training program to foreign learners who need Georgian as a means of written and spoken communication on basic everyday topics on mild conversational level.

Training is available on one-to-one and in-group format both within individual and corporate cases. A single level course lasts 3 months. Three lessons per week are held within standard training format. The length of each lesson is 2 hours. Learning resources are provided by the trainer.

Course: Georgian for Beginners, part 1:
Language level: Beginner
Course content:
This course is designed for students who have no prior knowledge of the Georgian language. The aim of the course is to give a student sufficient background to enable them to achieve mild communicative fluency in Georgian. It consists of three basic parts with simple grammar and vocabulary material.

Grammar
• Alphabet
• Nouns – singular and plural
• Demonstrative and personal pronouns
• Personal pronouns in plural
• Conjugation of irregular verb “to be” (present tense)
• Interrogative pronouns
• Subject markers
• Conjugation of some irregular verbs in present tense
• Cases
• Imperfect
• Some irregular verbs

Topics
• Days of the week, months
• Greetings
• Introducing themselves
• Professions
• Formal and informal basic conversation
• Using irregular verb “to be”
• Possessions, using possessive pronouns

Course: Georgian for beginners, part 2:
Course content:
This course is designed for students who have no prior knowledge of the Georgian language. The aim of the course is to give a student sufficient background to enable them to achieve active fluency in Georgian.

• Inversial verbs (“to have” in present and future tenses)
• Objective markers
• Reflexive verbs
• Postpositions with the dative case (“in”, “or” “at”)
• Irregular verb “to go” (in present and future tenses)
• Preverbs (function of preverbs)
• Future tense
• “To be” (in future tense)
• Numerals (cardinal/ordinal)
• Number agreement with verb
• Some irregular verbs

• Conversation based on expressing desire (“I want”)

This course is designed for students who have no prior knowledge of the Georgian language. The aim of the course is to give a student sufficient background to enable them to achieve active fluency in Georgian.

• Genitive, instrumental and adverbial case postpositions

Learning outcomes:
